Sen. Scott Brown writes off finance-reform bill

Now we learn that in the Conference Committee the House represented by Rep Frank (D-MA) was able to add a $19 billion bank tax to the bill. Where was Sen Dodd (D-CT)when this happened? Obviously he didn't object too much as it ended up in the Conference Committee bill.

The letter that Sen Scott Brown (R-MA) sent explains his stance on this bill:

In a letter to U.S. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Newton), chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, and Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), head of the Senate banking committee, Brown said a similar tax wasn’t in the bill he voted for in the Senate last month.

“I am writing you to express my strong opposition to the $19 billion bank tax that was included in the financial reform bill during the conference committee,” Brown wrote in his letter. “This tax was not in the Senate version of the bill, which I supported. If the final version of this bill contains these higher taxes, I will not support it.”
We applaud Scott Brown for standing up to Senator Dodd and the others in the Senate who agree with the addition of the $19B tax. Scott Brown is a breath of fresh air from Massachusetts who actually opposes no new taxes.

U.S. Sen. Scott Brown vowed today he won’t vote for the massive financial-reform package unless a proposed $19 billion bank tax is yanked out of it.

Brown, who last month provided a key vote that allowed a similar reform bill to get out of the Senate, said he simply can’t support a tax increase that might be passed along to consumers.

(snip)

Last week, Brown angrily lashed out at the $19 billion tax, after it was unveiled by conference-committee negotiators. But he stopped short of saying he’d oppose the bill.

Today, he bluntly made his stand clear: No support if the tax remains.

Louisiana Senate: Vitter (R) 53%, Melancon (D) 35%

Senator Vitter has been a very good Senator for Louisiana and has been standing strong during this oil disaster in the Gulf against the lack of response by Obama and his Administration along with BP. We are not surprised by these polling numbers as the voters of Louisiana know that off shore drilling is a key to having a sound economy and do not favor the Obama/Salazar moratorium.

Election 2010: Louisiana Senate

Louisiana Senate: Vitter (R) 53%, Melancon (D) 35%

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

Louisiana’s race for the U.S. Senate looks largely the same way it has since the beginning of the year, with incumbent Republican David Vitter continuing to earn over 50% of the vote in a state with unusually high Tea Party membership.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Louisiana finds Vitter, who is seeking a second six-year term, with 53% support. His Democratic challenger, Congressman Charlie Melancon, picks up 35% of the vote. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate, and nine percent (9%) are undecided.

In April, Vitter posted a similar lead over Melancon.

Since January, Vitter’s support has never fallen below the 50% mark considered critical for incumbents, ranging instead from 52% to 57%. Melancon, by contrast, has been unable to break out of the 30s, with his support holding in the 33% to 36% range.

The Republican leads by nearly 30 points among male voters and by a more modest 11 points among women. He holds a three-to-one lead among voters not affiliated with either major party.

Vitter has accused Melancon of supporting President Obama’s six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling following the disastrous oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico. In a state highly dependent on the oil industry, voters strongly support both offshore and deepwater drilling despite the environmental catastrophe that is already washing oil onto Louisiana shores.

Melancon has denied the accusation, part of a continuing effort by Vitter to link the Democrat to the president who is unpopular in the state.

Republican attacks Kagan stance on military recruiters on campus

All of a sudden Kagen respects and reveres the military? Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has the details of what happened from the military services she banned so her comments fly in the face of the military recruiters. We will side with Sessions and the military recruiters on this one.

Is Kagen going to give honest answers to questions or is she going to spin like her former boss Bill Clinton? Time will tell but today her answers reminded us of Clintonian spin.

Republican attacks Kagan stance on military recruiters on campus

By Sean Lengell
11:09 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010

Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan on Tuesday defended her position to restrict military recruiter access to Harvard Law School while she was dean, telling a Senate panel she always acted within the law.

But Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama attacked Miss Kagan's argument, saying that it was "unconnected to reality."

The debate took place during the second day of an expected week-long confirmation hearing before Senate Judiciary Committee.

Miss Kagan said she never barred recruiters from campus. Rather, she said she let the school's military veterans association sponsor recruiters instead of the school.

Miss Kagan said the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy against allowing gays and lesbians to serve opening in the military clashed with the school's anti-discrimination policy.

"The military had full access to our students, both before I became dean and after I became dean," said Miss Kagan, 50, who now serves as the U.S. Solicitor General, the federal government's top litigator before the Supreme Court.

She said she personally disagrees with the 'don't ask, don't tell' rule but that she admires the military.

"I respect and indeed I revere the military," said Miss Kagan, who added that her father served in the military. "I always tried to make sure I conveyed my honor for the military."

But Mr. Sessions said the nominee's response was disingenuous and questioned whether her actions created a hostile atmosphere toward recruiters and treated them in a "second-class way."

"The Air Force and the Army says they were blocked, they were stonewalled, they were getting the run-around from Harvard," Mr. Sessions says. "I feel like you mishandled that, I'm absolutely confident you did."

Senator Robert Byrd (D-WVA) Died June 28, 2010

Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.), the longest-serving member of Congress in American history, died Monday at the age of 92. Byrd was the president pro tempore of the Senate and third in line to the presidency.

In all, Byrd's congressional career spanned 12 presidencies, numerous wars, countless political movements, and nearly the full arc of the civil rights movement. Once a staunch segregationist and a member of the Ku Klux Klan, Byrd endorsed Barack Obama for president in 2008 and praised his fellow Democrat as a "good Christian."

In addition to serving the most years in Congress -- 57 -- Byrd also cast the most votes of any U.S. senator -- more than 18,500. He also held the records for being elected to the most full terms in Senate history, with nine; of being the longest-serving member on any Senate committee; and of holding the most Senate leadership positions, including Senate majority leader (twice) and Senate minority leader.

Dino Rossi has a very good opportunity to pick up this seat from Patty Murray (D-WA). He is another one of the good candidates Republicans have running this year, and we encourage you to get behind him with your support.

Please visit Dino Rossi's website at: DinoRossi.com to sign up to help or donate money. Let's send Rossi to the Senate to help our other Republican fiscal conservatives right the ship!

Dino Rossi announcement, May 25, 2008, to run for Senate in Washington State against Patty Murray:

Already Rossi has tied Murray in the latest polling:

Rossi Ties Murray
By Neil Stevens on June 26, 2010

It’s the weekend, so I will be brief, but I saw this poll and thought I’d mention it: After so many polls showing him competitive or even close, Dino Rossi has registered a tie with Patty Murray in the Washington Senate race.

47 all (MoE 4.5) in the latest Rasmussen poll. It will be interesting to see how this goes after the first round election when it becomes a proper two way race.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer says new border signs are an outrage

If you only choose to get behind only one Republican Governor's candidate, please make it Jan Brewer, Governor of Arizona, who is standing up against the Obama Administration, LaRaza, and the Mexican President to defend their Immigration Bill that enforces what the Federal Government should be doing but won't.

These signs by the Obama Administration are a slap in the face to Arizona residents and the American people. If these signs are his idea of Border Security 80 miles from the border and 30 miles from the State Capitol to warn how dangerous the area is, then once again Obama has failed to deliver on a promise to provide Border Security.

Eighty miles from the Border, the Obama Administration has basically given the land to the illegals as these signs warn Americans how dangerous it is to travel in this area. These signs only 30 miles from the State Capitol show how poorly Napolitano performed as Governor as she allowed the illegals to continue to cross the border and evolve into the situation we have today. Guess she figures every illegal is a potential Democrat voter. Now as Secretary of Homeland Security she still does nothing to protect the Arizona border. Terrorists could easily cross the Arizona border into the United States but the Obama Administration doesn't seem to care.

Read Governor Brewer's letter to Obama asking for answers after her visit with him in the Oval Office on Border Security two weeks ago. When do you think he will get back to her? Probably not in the near future because he has too many golf dates planned.

This Republican Governor is standing up for the citizens of Arizona and America. She needs elected to a full term in office so she can continue to take on the Washington DC bureacracy of the Obama Administration and Democrat Congress. We need to send her some new members of Congress in January to join others like Senators McCain and Kyl and Congressman Flake who understand Border Security and will help Governor Brewer with this dangerous border situation.

Your vote on NOvember 2nd, 2010, is necessary to send Pelosi and Reid packing from leadership. We need to return some sanity to the halls of Congress where our Border Security will become a major issue and not shoved aside like is happening today with the Obama Democrats.

Watch Governor Brewer's YouTube video below and be reminded just how useless Obama and his Administration are when it comes to Border Security.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer says new border signs are an outrage

Posted: 06/25/2010
Last Updated: 10 hours and 7 minutes ago

By: ABC15.com staff, wire reports
PHOENIX - Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is calling a new border security initiative an outrage.

In a campaign video posted on YouTube Friday, Brewer stood in front of what she called newly posted signs by President Obama's administration about the Arizona desert being an active drug and human smuggling area.

"Washington says our border is as safe as it has ever been," Brewer said. "Does this look safe to you? What is our country coming to…we need to stand up and demand action. Washington is broken, Mr. President. Do your job. Secure our borders."

In a separate letter released the day before, Brewer told Obama she'd like specifics on National Guard deployments and other steps to be taken in Arizona before a planned Monday visit to Phoenix by Obama administration officials to discuss plans. The governor told reporters Friday she expects five officials from the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security at the meeting.

The meeting is an outgrowth of Brewer's June 3 visit to the White House where she and Obama discussed border security and immigration.

Brewer is currently running for re-election as Arizona's governor.

Crist cashing in on flip-flops

We wondered how low Charlie Crist would go since it has become obvious that he has no core values and now we are finding out. No self respecting conservative would ever reach out to trial attorneys. What makes them think if elected, Crist won't turn on them like he has everyone else.

Crist is probably the worst example of a politician that I can remember, and there have been some bad ones but this is the first I have seen a candidate toss out everything they stood for in the last 20 years and do a total 180. It is not like Specter who was a Democrat before he became a Republican and then went back Democrat. Crist had always been a Republican.

Tells us that the Gallagher supporters, I was one, were right about Crist in 2006, but Crist snowed the conservatives and ruthlessly attacked Gallagher so he won the nomination and the Governor's office. We could not get conservative websites to understand that Crist held no core values and was just saying what they wanted to hear. Those same sites have turned on him this time. Too many sites endorse candidates without looking at their background just because candidates say they say they are conservative.

Club for Growth investigates their candidates before giving support which is why their record is so good this time.

Email today from the Rubio campaign:

Sharon,

Just how much is Charlie Crist willing to do and say to get elected? We are continually shocked to see that Charlie will stop at nothing to ensure that Marco Rubio is not the next U.S. Senator from Florida, because for them this is an "Anybody but Rubio" campaign.

Yesterday's headline in the St. Petersburg Times highlights Charlie's desperate attempts to just win: "Trial lawyers, union and Democratic loyalists are helping to fund Crist in U.S. Senate race." "A governor who once courted conservatives by calling himself a ‘Jeb Bush Republican’ is getting help from liberal trial lawyers, union activists and even elected Democrats, who are shunning their party's Senate hopefuls, wealthy Palm Beach businessman Jeff Greene and U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek of Miami.”

After one fundraiser in Sarasota, the local newspaper wrote:

“Trial attorneys out in force for Crist … If you needed an attorney, Florida Gov. Charlie Crist’s fundraiser on Siesta Key earlier this week would have been a good place to start. It seemed every attorney in the region that has an ad on a taxi, phonebook or on television was milling around the first big Crist fundraiser in the region since he changed his party registration to run as an independent.”

As Charlie Crist has transparently “shifted to the left on some issues,” he is cashing in with large fundraisers hosted by Democrat special interests. Why are they opening up their wallets and giving big bucks? Because they are desperate to support any candidate who will go to Washington and be a “yes” vote for President Obama’s liberal agenda. These special interests want to keep piling up debt on future generations of Americans, implement a costly cap-and-trade national energy tax and fight reforms that will end frivolous lawsuits.

We must continue to stand together. We need your support, especially now, to ensure that Washington doesn't remain on this same path. The quarter is winding down which means that once again, we are asking for your financial support. This is another important opportunity to show Charlie what this election is really about - the need for true leadership, a return to conservative, American values, and a better future for our children.

Proud to stand,

Team Rubio

Ken Buck for Colorado Senator

Ken's wife Perry owns a small business in Greeley. She served as the Vice-Chair of the Colorado Republican Party for 4 years. Son Cody is a fourth year cadet at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Daughter Kaitlin is a sophomore at Clemson University

The paragraph below says it all about Ken Buck and how hard he has worked over the years to get where he is today. He understands what people are going through on a daily basis. As District Attorney, Ken has been able to help young people who were headed down the wrong path. When he first decided to run, Ken was way behind the establishment frontrunner, Jane Norton, but today the race is tight after Ken and Perry have been traveling around the state listening to voters and what they have to say about their opposition to what they see in Congress.

Over the course of his career, he has worked as a truck driver, high school football coach, ranch hand, school janitor, paper boy, furniture mover, adjunct law professor, prosecutor, and businessman. Ken knows what Colorado families face everyday and is well prepared to serve as their voice in the United States Senate.
When the dust settles after the Primary, we expect Colorado to have a very strong candidate who all Republicans can get behind. If you live in Colorado, consider giving your vote to the people's candidate, Ken Buck, in the primary. Most important thing to remember is that whoever wins the primary, Jane Norton, Ken Buck, or Cleve Tidwell, they will need support of Republicans throughout Colorado to beat the Democrat.

Thanks for stopping by my
website.

I became a candidate for the U.S. Senate because of my growing concern about the direction the new Administration and new Congress are taking our country.

Having been elected District Attorney in Weld County twice by large margins I know how important it is to serve the public by doing what's right.

But too many in Congress today seem more interested in serving themselves and the special interests instead of the people they were elected to serve. Their irresponsible actions are putting our economic future at risk.

Colorado's appointed U.S. Senator Michael Bennet has quickly become part of the problem and is turning out to be just another reliable rubber stamp for the big spending, big government leaders in Congress. Bennet voted for the 800 billion dollar stimulus bill, admitting that he hadn't even read the bill. Bennet is ready to turn our health care system over to the federal government by pledging support for the so-called "public option" health plan. And Bennet is ready to hike energy prices and deal our staggering economy a deadly blow. He "wants to be for" the cap and trade disaster looming in Congress.

Well, Colorado is not going to settle for a rubber stamp Senator. The call to action to reclaim our U.S. Senate seat has been heard and people at home are responding with passion and enthusiasm.

Thousands of Coloradans have shared their concerns with my wife Perry and I as we have traveled through all 64 counties building the grassroots leadership team for my campaign. From downtown Greeley to main streets across the state, we have been overwhelmed by the willingness of so many to donate their precious time, energy and money to help our campaign get off to such a strong start.

If you share my concern about the direction the politicians in Washington are taking our country, I hope you will consider supporting my campaign. With your help, I can be the strong independent voice Colorado needs in the U.S. Senate.

Ken Buck

Club for Victory Email (Club for Growth)

We have been telling people to donate direct to candidates except for one group which we find helps candidates the most in elections -- Club for Growth.

The first time we an experience with Club for Growth was in 2004 in the Dr. Tom Coburn race for the Oklahoma Senate seat vacated by Senator Don Nickles.

The powers at be in D.C. decided that another Republican candidate was who they wanted as the next Senator not Dr. Coburn who had the experience of serving three terms in the House and was known as a straight shooter and cost cutter who hated earmarks and pork. They shut off Dr. Coburn's fundraising in DC and one of his opponents was sending flyers around in the PRIMARY with his picture with Pres Bush at the White House. Club for Growth knew that Dr. Coburn was the conservative in the race so they got behind him in the primary which he won outright in a 3-way race which meant no run-off.

After the primary, you would think that the RNC would have made sure along with the NRSC to ensure that Dr. Coburn had plenty of money to run in the general. They didn't so Club for Growth and all of us in Oklahoma who supported Dr. Coburn in the primary opened our wallets and also provided plenty of volunteer hours to help him win. Speaker of the House Denny Haster three weeks before the election said that Coburn was not going to win. George Allen, Chair of NRSC, disagreed and supported Dr. Coburn in the general. We held a fundraiser in Norman near the end of the campaign and the room was packed with donors which said Dr. Tom was going to win and he won going away.

Without Club for Growth not sure that Dr. Coburn would have pulled it off as his opponent Brad Carson was pretending himself to be the 'conservative' on radio and TV. IMHO Club for Growth donated the money for ads that put Dr. Coburn over the top. Pat Toomey who was head of Club for Growth at the time Dr. Coburn won is now running for the US Senate from Pennsylvania -- we need to get that Senate seat back Republican after Specter defected to the Democrats.

Now Club for Growth is heavily involved in the Florida Senator race for Marco Rubio to defeat Charlie Crist plus in Nevada to defeat Harry Reid and send Sharon Angle to the US Senate.

If you only donate to one group, make sure it is Club for Growth who support Conservatives who win elections.

*********

Dear Sharon,

Our PAC got a new nickname yesterday, courtesy of The Wall Street Journal's Political Diary - "Club for Victory." Here's an excerpt:

"The free-market oriented political group had a banner primary night [Tuesday]. It not only helped Tim Scott win a primary in South Carolina, but provided over $400,000 to help his fellow state legislative colleague Jeff Duncan. Mr. Duncan won a 51% runoff victory and becomes the GOP candidate for the vacant Congressional seat held by Gresham Barrett, who ran unsuccessfully for governor. The Club also had a good night in Utah, where it provided early support for lawyer Mike Lee in his race for the U.S. Senate. Mr. Lee, together with businessman Tim Bridgewater, knocked off incumbent U.S. Senator Bob Bennett at the GOP state convention earlier in this spring."

National Review Online chimed in too, saying "The Club for Growth is on a roll. Earlier this month, it won big with Sharron Angle in Nevada. After last night, it is batting a thousand this cycle" with its PAC.

Then The Washington Post reviewed the "Winners and Losers" after this week's primaries.

The #1 winner? The Club's PAC. Here's their report:

"Club for Growth: Has any outside group had a better election cycle than the Club? On Tuesday, South Carolina state Reps. Tim Scott (in the 1st district) and Jeff Duncan (in the 3rd) -- both of whom the Club bundled tens of thousands for -- won contested Republicans runoffs. Those victories prove, yet again, that the Club's support -- in the form of bundled donations and spending on ads and direct mail -- matters in a real way in contested Republican primaries."

Thanks to your support, our PAC can help elect the best candidates in the most important races in the country. After years of being let down by Republicans and Democrats alike, you know that we need to find and elect candidates with real principles and backbones. If we want a better Congress, we need better congressmen. And if we want better Republican leadership, we need better Republicans. The kind who will tell their leaders they won't just go along to get along. The kind who will elect leaders of the party who are solid fiscal conservatives, not porkers.

Thanks to you, the Club's PAC will be a major player in the key Senate races this year, too. Races like defeating Harry Reid in Nevada and Charlie Crist in Florida.

Please click here to donate to the Club's PAC so we can keep winning key races.

Can you imagine how much different the Senate will be if Pat Toomey from Pennsylvania, Marco Rubio from Florida and Sharron Angle from Nevada cast votes? Instead of Arlen Specter, Charlie Crist and Harry Reid?

Big primaries are coming up in July and August. Let's set a goal today - let's raise at least $100,000 for the Club's PAC by June 30.

Let's declare independence from the big-spending, tax-hiking politicians who don't care if the US follows Greece to the road to bankruptcy.

Please click here to donate to the Club's PAC so we can keep winning key races.

Let's refill the Club PAC's war chest so it can help change Congress.

Best Regards,

Chris

Students Sue Over Removal of American Flag T-shirts

News Flash to Mexicans in the United States: This is the United States of America not Mexico -- we celebrate American holidays not Mexican. The very idea that there could have been violence at a school on May 5th because these students decided to wear shirts with the American flag is disgusting. If the Mexican students want to make everyone wear Mexican clothing on Cinco de Mayo, then they should return to Mexico. Why are school administrators caving to Mexican students -- threat of violence?

The Mexicans who want to turn this Country into another Mexico don't have to be here -- they can return home to their own country at any time as no one is stopping them. We have noticed that Mexicans who come here legally act differently than those who break the law by coming to this Country illegally as they are happy to be hear and appreciate what American has to offer not try to change America. If someone coming to the United States cannot assimilate into our culture, then it is probably a good idea they don't come here.

Would never expect if I went to another Country for them to celebrate an American holiday so why should people in the United States celebrate a foreign holiday in a public school? Makes no sense.

Like so many others, we are getting fed up with the political correctness that abounds in the liberal mindset. No amnesty and secure the borders should be the goal of every American. Yesterday we learned that the Mexican Government wants to join in a suit against the Arizona Immigration Law -- what legal standing do they have? Fix their own country so illegals in this Country will return to Mexico.

Then we learn Democrats don't want the Obama Administration to sue Arizona before the election. Cowards because they know the backlash that will be coming across America against Democrats if Obama sues Arizona.

On November 2nd, 2010, vote only for candidates who support Border Security, tough immigration bills, and no amnesty.

Students Sue Over Removal of American Flag T-shirts

Published June 23, 2010
| FOXNews.com

Four California high school students who were forced to remove their American flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Morgan Hill Unified School District.

While other students at the school wore clothing depicting the colors of the Mexican flag and other attire related to the holiday, the four students and one other were told by a school administrator that they could wear the shirts any other day but May 5, which celebrates the Mexican army's victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla.

The students’ attorney, William J. Becker Jr., said state law explicitly grants students the right to exercise freedom of speech by wearing “buttons, badges, and other insignia” and prohibits public schools from interfering with their speech rights unless a “clear and present danger” exists, such as the commission of unlawful acts on school premises, the violation of school rules or substantial disruption of the school’s orderly operation.

“The U.S. Supreme Court has held for decades that students do not shed their First Amendment rights at the schoolhouse gates,” said Becker. "Students who wish to show their pride for another nation’s heritage should not have their speech protected more than those who celebrate America’s."

The lawsuit was filed against the district and also names the principle and assistant principal as defendants.

Superintendent Wesley Smith would not comment on the situation directly, but said the district has not received official notification of any lawsuit.

School district officials reversed the school administrator's decision, calling the incident "extremely unfortunate."

"The Morgan Hill Unified School District does not prohibit nor do we discourage wearing patriotic clothing," Smith said in a statement issued in response to the uproar and national media attention that followed. "While campus safety is our primary concern and administrators made decisions yesterday in an attempt to ensure campus safety, students should not, and will not, be disciplined for wearing patriotic clothing."

The teens were sitting at a table outside Live Oak High School when an assistant principal asked two of them to remove their American flag bandannas. The boys complied, but then were escorted the principal's office, where they were told they must turn their T-shirts inside-out or be sent home. The assistant principal told the students he did not want any fights to break out between Mexican-American students celebrating their heritage and those wearing American flags.

RNC launches 'Obama's Chicago Network'

One word -- "AWESOME"

RNC launches 'Obama's Chicago Network'

By Joseph Weber
12:50 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2010

Republicans have turned to satire and the new media to expose what they see as the persistent and corrosive role of Chicago-style politics in President Obama's administration.

The Republican National Committee on Tuesday launched a website for the mock "Obama's Chicago Network: It's not TV, it's reality."

"If you think it's hot outside, just wait until you see this summer's lineup on the Obama Chicago Network," says the voiceover on the accompanying video. Among the shows featured on the mock network is "Dancing with the Law," a takeoff of the popular ABC reality show "Dancing with the Stars."

"You knew he had a way with words, but wait until you see Robert Gibbs dance this week," says the voiceover as an animated version of the White House spokesman dances around what appears to be a copy of the Constitution — an obvious take on Mr. Gibbs saying the administration broke no laws in offering Rep. Joe Sestak a job to drop out of the midterms.

Another mock show is "I'm a Politician, Get Me Out of Here," intended to highlight recently revelations that administration Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, then an Illinois congressman, appeared to attempt to trade favors with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich when he was in office, according to newly disclosed e-mails obtained by the Associated Press.

"Get ready for the most outrageous reality show on TV ... starring Rod Blagojevich," says the voiceover before a caricature of Mr. Emanuel appears.

"When you add the new guy to the gang, you know there will be drama," says the voiceover.

Doug Heye, Republican National Committee spokesman, said the new site follows a series of successful, new media and interactive campaigns including one launched after the Democrat-controlled Congress passed the multibillion-dollar health care reform.

The firenancypelosi.com site raised more than $1.5 million in about a week, he said.
"We're trying to capture people's attentions," he said. "The administration is not taking seriously the challenges we face."

Inhofe Informant: Watch Senator Inhofe Stand Up for Domestic Energy

May 22, 2010

Dear Friends,

As the Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, last week I soundly stood up to Sen. Sanders (I-VT) amendment to the Tax Extenders bill that would have imposed a multi-billion tax increase on America’s domestic energy producers. To punish American owned energy companies with a multi-billion dollar tax increase is not the answer. Instead, BP should be held solely responsible for the Gulf of Mexico catastrophe. In the end, the Senate spoke with a clear bi-partisan message in agreement with my position by defeating the Sanders amendment with a 61-35 vote.

I attended a Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) hearing regarding the war in Afghanistan. I questioned key witnesses including U.S. Gen. David H. Petraeus and Hon. Michele A. Flournoy. Both Petraeus and Flounoy agreed that cutting dollars to the Commander’s Emergency Response Program (CERP) and withdrawing our troops based on the President’s timeline and not for the better of Afghanistan would be disastrous. After hearing both Petreaus and Flournoy’s testimony, I believe Congress needs to continue funding CERP at the President’s request of $1.1 billion dollars which will provide basic services as water and energy which will improve the people of Afghanistan’s security and economy well-being.

The U.S. Army celebrated their 235th birthday last week. As a senior member of the SASC and the co-chair of the Senate Army Caucus, I attended the Army's reception on Capitol Hill. It was an honor to meet the many soldiers servingin the U.S. Army that have worked both here at home and abroad to protect our nation’s freedom.

Additionally, the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) awarded me with the Benjamin Franklin Public Policy award. As someone who previously worked in the insurance industry, I appreciate this award and NAMIC’s promotion of free markets.

Sincerely,

Jim Inhofe

Rep Alan Grayson (D-FL) caught running a fake Tea Party candidate in Georgia House race

Since we were visited yesterday from a member of the Democrats who had a lot to say in his comments against the Tea Party movement, we thought today we would spotlight what Alan Grayson (D-FL) has done. Looks like he decided to run someone in Georgia as a member of the Tea Party movement when she is a stooge of his according to the records.

Republicans have to be extremely careful before getting behind a Tea Party candidate they have not heard about before. They need to check out their background and where they stand on issues. This is one case where a Dem, Grayson, is using the Tea Party to run his own candidate. How many more first time candidates no one has heard of are running as Tea Party candidates but are actually funded by the Democrats?

Before you put time and money behind any candidate, check to see they are who they say they are if they are running as a Republican. You can do that yourself by going to the County or State election board and checking out their voter registration which is public. Were they a Democrat in recent years like 2006 or 2008? See where they stand on issues before ever giving one red cent. If they are not willing to answer basic questions, run as fast you can away from them.

After what happened in the Texas Governor's Republican primary, we all need to be careful. Conservatives were getting behind a candidate that turned out to be a Ron Paul candidate and supported the 9/11 truther movement. Gov Perry received the overwhelming support of Texas Republicans but what if she had not been outed. Could she have caused a run-off? The statement 'buyer beware' also pertains to candidates.

This is just more proof that Democrats will like, cheat, and steal to win elections. Wonder if ACORN is involved in this election?

Slimy Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) was just caught running a fake tea party candidate, Victoria Torres, in the state House district 51 race.Torres is a Grayson stooge.

Grayson has a history of spouting off vile accusations against Republicans.
Roll Call reported, via FOX Nation:

One of Rep. Alan Grayson’s pollsters is running for the state House in Florida as a Tea Party candidate, fueling Republican suspicions that the Democratic Congressman is using to a newly formed third party to boost his own re-election bid.
On Friday, Victoria Torres, 44, of Orlando qualified to run as a Tea Party candidate in state House district 51 in the last hours of the qualifying period.

A call to Torres was returned by Nick Egoroff, communications director for the Florida Tea Party, who described Torres as a “quasi-paralegal assistant who works in a law office.” But apparently, Torres is also a pollster.

According to records from the Florida Department of State office, Torres incorporated Public Opinion Strategies Inc. in December 2008. In the first quarter of this year, Grayson’s campaign made two payments to her firm, totaling $11,000, for polling and survey expenses.

Democrats are Desperate if these Comments are any Indication

UPDATE at 9:47 p.m.:

Didn't mean to cut out your ending -- think it is important that everyone see everything you wanted posted so that can make their own decision what they think of today's Democrat who post. :)

You cut my best part, my ending:

The Birthers and the Tea Bag party crowd think they can scare, intimidate and force others to go along with them by comments like “This time we came unarmed”, let me tell you something not all ex-military join the fringe militia crazies who don’t pay taxes and run around with face paint in the parks playing commando, the majority are mature and understand that the world is more complicated and grey than the black and white that these simpleton make it out to be and that my friend is the point. The world is complicated and people like Hamilton, Lincoln, and Roosevelt believed that we should use government a little to increase social mobility, now it’s about dancing around the claim of government is the problem. The sainted Reagan passed the biggest tax increase in American history and as a result federal employment increased, but facts are lost when mired in mysticism and superstition. For a party that gave us Abraham Lincoln, it is tragic that the ranks are filled with too many empty suits and the crazy Birthers who have not learned that the way our courts work is that you get a competent lawyer, verifiable facts and present them to a judge, if the facts are real and not half baked internet lies, then, and only then, do you proceed to trial. The Birthers seem to be having a problem with their so called “Internet facts”. Let’s face it no one will take the Birthers seriously until they win a case, but until then, you will continue to appear dumb, crazy or racist, or maybe all three. I heard that Orly Taitz now wants to investigate the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC), she wants to re-establish a family values party, that is like saying that the Catholic Church cares about the welling being of children in their care, too late for that. Yee Haw!

This afternoon I posted on here the article about Senator Kyl and Obama's meeting at the White House where Obama said no Border Security without an immigration bill that grants amnesty to illegals. Imagine my surprise when I came back to this blog to post Carley Fioroni's picture and found this comment posted at 6:39 p.m.:

Montana said...
The Tea Bag Party are just “haters not debaters” or as others have dubbed them “screamers not dreamers”, with their failed attempts at stopping Healthcare reform, they say they respect the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence but they do not mind passing laws, through weak Governors (no one voted for this crazy) who only cares about getting elected Governor, on the backs of undocumented workers, that will not pass Constitution muster.

Brewer signed into law;

1. S.B. 1070,
2. No permit conceal weapons law,
3. The famous Birthers law,
4. Banning Ethnic studies law,
5. Could she be behind the Mural in Prescott, Arizona, ordered to be whiten,
6. On deck to pass, no citizenship to babies born to undocumented workers,
7. If she can read she should look up Arizona’s House Bill 2779 from two years ago (which was un-constitution and failed when legally challenged),
8. The boycotted Martin Luther King Day, what idiots don’t want another holiday? Yes, you guessed it Arizona.

Well Arizona, you can boycott new holidays and keep passing crazy laws and the rest of us will continue to challenged them in a court of law and continue to add cities to our Boycott of your state.

I real cannot believe anything that comes out of Brewer’s mouth, in an interview she first said her father had died in Germany fighting the Nazi in World War II (war ended 1945) but of course we find out the truth that father was never in Germany and died in California in 1955. But we are suppose to believe everything else she says, right! No one voted for you for Governor, yet you keep listening to the tiny brains of the crazies and signing into law everything that comes into their feeble minds, it only make you look dumb, stupid or racist, or maybe all three.

As for the Tea Bag Party, their phony patriotism is sickening; they are just racists going by another name. We all know you are just itching to put a sheet on their head? Let’s face it the Republicans had eight years to deal with health care, immigration, energy (remember Cheney’s secret meetings with oil companies where loosening regulation and oversight were sealed), climate change and financial oversight and governance and they failed. It appears that the Republican Party is only good at starting wars (two in eight years, with fat contracts to friends of Cheney/Bush) but not at winning wars as seen by the continuing line of body bags that keep coming home. The Republicans party will continue turned inward to their old fashion obstructionist party (and their Confederacy appreciation roots) because they continue to allow a small portions (but very loud portion) of their party of “birthers, baggers and blowhards” to rule their party. I will admit that this fringe is very good at playing “Follow the Leader” by listening to their dullard leaders, Beck, Hedgecock, Hannity, O’Reilly, Rush, Savage, Sarah Bailin, Orly Taitz, Victoria Jackson, Michele Bachmann and the rest of the Blowhards and acting as ill programmed robots (they have already acted against doctors that perform abortions).
Recently Voices was taken off of moderation for comments so anyone could make comments on this blog. This blog was started as a companion to our other blog Democrats for Sale where we still moderate comments. Maybe we should take that blog off of moderation as well if this is an example of what Democrats are going to post. Might as well let everyone see their rants.

Must admit we did not expect any comments like this filled with such venom against Governor Brewer of Arizona. Just shows how out of touch with reality some Democrat posters have become. If this person is being paid by the Democrats to go to sites to post his rants, they are not getting their money's worth because this rant makes no sense. Because I discussed Border Security requests by Governor Brewer, Senators Kyl and McCain, this person went off on Governor Brewer including the Martin Luther King holiday which she had no part. Are they going around spamming threads with these comments thinking it will score points?

No place in this tirade did this person even mention Senator Kyl who the article was about. The hatred against Governor Brewer is way over the top. If I wrote a tirade like this about Obama, I would be called all kinds of names. Also don't know what the 'Tea Bag Party' has to do with Senator Kyl's comments. Last I heard it was the "Tea Party" movement. I don't belong to the Tea Party movement here in Oklahoma but I get all the emails from the Tea Party Express. You don't have to belong to the Tea Party to opposeillegal immigration and amnesty. I support Governor Brewer and Arizona on their immigration bill and also concerning anchor babies. If both of the parents are not citizens of the United States, the baby should not be a citizen. That is reality.

Why not go after the Mexican Immigration laws which are much tougher than any in the United States? That doesn't seem to fit the Democrat agenda of wanting more voters.

Is this an example of today's Democrats? If it is, it is not surprising that more and more moderate to conservative Democrats have had it with the Democrat Party of Pelosi, Reid, and Obama and are switching their party affiliation.

If this venom filled post was meant to get anyone upset, it had the opposite affect to show how much hatred the Democrats have today for Republicans and the Rule of Law. They control the White House and Presidency but that is not enough as they seem to want to control how we think or they will trash us.

November 2, 2010, will be the day we take back America from the haters of this Country. The United States always welcomes legal immigrants but not those who break the law coming across the borders illegally. No other country openly welcomes illegals to cross their border so why should the United States?

Kyl: Obama Won't Secure Border Until Lawmakers Move on Immigration Package

Senator Kyl met privately with President Obama on Border Security and now the White House wants us to believe Senator Kyl is the one who is lying about what Obama said at the meeting?

That is not a hard one to figure out. Obama has been against Border Security from Day One ignoring the requests of the Arizona Governor and Senators Kyl and McCain as he was pushing the Immigration bill that grants amnesty. We believe that Obama would prefer Open Borders because when he finally agreed to send in the National Guard to Arizona to help they are desk people not boots on the ground. It suits the Obama and Democrat agenda of getting more Democrat voters if more illegals cross the border, give them amnesty, and a path to citizenship to become a Democrat voter. Doesn't take rocket science to figure out what Obama is up to with his plan for illegals.

The Democrat Party has no intention of securing our border so the fact that Obama told Kyl that he won't secure the border until Congress moves on immigration is no surprise to us. We believe the Democrats looks at illegals as a perpetual source of new Democrat voters not people who are in this Country illegally.

Kyl: Obama Won't Secure Border Until Lawmakers Move on Immigration Package

Published June 21, 2010
FOXNews.com

President Obama is refusing to secure the border until Congress reaches a breakthrough on comprehensive immigration reform, Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl said at a recent town hall meeting.

The No. 2 Senate Republican, in a clip posted on YouTube (below) showing the senator speaking to a local Tea Party crowd on Friday, said the president told him during a one-on-one meeting in the Oval Office that he was concerned he wouldn't win GOP support on immigration legislation if he took care of border security first.

"The problem is, he said, if we secure the border, then you all won't have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform," Kyl said, as the crowd in the room gasped loudly. "In other words, they're holding it hostage."

The White House denied the claim on Monday. Spokesman Bill Burton and Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer both said Kyl "knows" Obama did not make that comment to him in their meeting.

"The president didn't say that and Senator Kyl knows it," Pfeiffer said in a written statement. "There are more resources dedicated toward border security today than ever before, but, as the president has made clear, truly securing the border will require a comprehensive solution to our broken immigration system."
Burton repeated the claim at the press briefing Monday afternoon.

But Kyl's office stood by the senator's account. Kyl spokesman Ryan Patmintra said, "There were two people in that meeting, and Dan Pfieffer was not one of them." He said Pfeiffer's call for comprehensive immigration legislation "only confirms" Kyl's story.

And later, Kyl himself affirmed to Fox News the accuracy of his version: “I portrayed our conversation totally accurately ... The president cannot say that what I said was incorrect.”

Iowa Congressman Makes No Apologies for His Comments About Obama Favoring Minorities

It has become readily apparent that Obama favors minorities over whites to the stage you could call his comments and actions discrimination against whites. We noticed it during the campaign as he dissed his mother's white side of the family including his grandparents.

Once in office, it became perfectly clear with his pandering to blacks, muslims, and other minorities that whites were to take a back seat. Attorney General Holder's Department of Justice dropping the voter intimidation caught on tape against the New Black Panthers was evidence that change was going to be pandering to minorities.

Thanks to Congressman King (R-IA) for standing up and telling it like it is as so many of our elected officials want to play 'nice' and those days are over as Obama attempts to move this Nation on a path toward socialism bankrupting the United States as he moves along.

We still haven't recovered from reading about the federal judge in New York who wants Hispanics in a town to get six votes to apportion as they desire so Hispanics can be represented on the Town Council. What happened to one man, one vote. Judge rejected making six districts -- Why? Guess that doesn't apply where minorities are concerned -- ACORN has been making sure of that over the years with their voter fraud for Democrats.

When does it stop? When does Martin Luther King's wish that a man be judged on who he is as a person not the color of his skin become a fact? It obviously didn't happen with Obama being elected as the racial divide is farther apart than it has been in years thanks to his policies and comments. If you make a comment against an Obama policy, you are called racist. What does policy have to do with his race?

Iowa Congressman Makes No Apologies for His Comments About Obama Favoring Minorities
Fox ^ 6/16/10 Christina Corbin

Iowa Rep. Steve King said he is performing a public service by accusing President Obama of favoring blacks over whites.

"I'm standing up against something that is or could become racism," King told FoxNews.com on Wednesday.

The Iowa Republican said he didn't misspeak when he told a nationally syndicated radio show on Monday that President Obama favors blacks over whites. King told the G. Gordon Liddy show that Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder repeatedly demonstrate an unjust preference toward minorities.

King told FoxNews.com that his comments alluded to a July 2009 incident in which a white police officer in Cambridge, Mass., arrested a black professor for disorderly conduct.
Before knowing all the facts, Obama said Sgt. James Crowley acted "stupidly" when he apprehended Harvard Prof. Henry Louis Gates Jr. outside his home. Obama later said he did not intend to malign the police offer -- and invited the two men to a "beer summit" at the White House -- but King claims his initial remarks showed a "built-in defense mechanism" that favors minorities.

Did You Know? You Cut Project Works - Cast Your Vote!

Great News from the Republican Conference. Cong Eric Cantor (R-VA), Minority Whip has delivered the good news in an email today. Looks like this new project started by House Republicans has Obama and the House Democrats scrambling. Now will they also vote for these cuts? Time will tell but we are not going to hold our breath.

Email from Minority Whip Eric Cantor, 6/18/10:

You are making history.

Since we started the YouCut project, House Republicans have taken the policies that you have selected and offered over $100 billion in spending cuts on the House floor for up-or-down votes by your Representatives.

Just yesterday, we voted on the proposal championed by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) to sell excess federal government property, which would generate over $15 billion in savings. Click here to see where your Representative stood on this important vote.

With every YouCut vote you cast, you are helping to challenge Washington's culture of spending. Together, we are changing the debate from ways the government can spend more of your money into a debate over different ways to reduce spending. Let me share with you two examples of how you are changing Washington.

After this week's YouCut proposal was unveiled to save $15 billion by selling excess federal property, President Obama announced his own version that would save $3 billion. (It isn't $15 billion, but at least it is a step in the right direction!)

The Majority recently called all of their committee chairmen together and told them they had to start finding ways to save money. A Capitol Hill newspaper cited YouCut as prompting the request!

This is only the beginning. There is much more to do. America must reject the road of unsustainable debt; the stakes have never been higher.

Click here to cast your vote on which item should be brought up for a vote next week.

Regards,

Eric Cantor

Election 2010: Arkansas Senate -- Boozman (R) 61%, Lincoln (D) 32%

Unions and DC Democrats tried to knock off Blanche Lincoln in the Democrat primary, but were unsuccessful as she is the Democrat nominee. Unions spent millions and millions to defeat Lincoln to no avail. With these poll numbers, looks like Lincoln will be sent back to Arkansas after the November 2nd election. It is not like she didn't have warning from her constituents not to vote for the Obama agenda. She had plenty of warning but chose to ignore her constituents.

This Senate race looks like it is more than leaning Republican right now. With a lot of hard work and help from volunteers, Republican Boozman will be putting this Arkansas Democrat Senate seat in the Republican column come November.

Election 2010: Arkansas Senate
Arkansas Senate: Boozman (R) 61%, Lincoln (D) 32%

Thursday, June 17, 2010
Republican John Boozman now holds a near two-to-one lead over Democratic incumbent Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas’ U.S. Senate race, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state.

Boozman earns 61% of the vote, while Lincoln, coming off her Democratic Primary runoff win last week, picks up 32% support. Four percent (4%) favor some other candidate in the race, while just three percent (3%) remain undecided.

Lincoln, who is seeking a third term in the Senate, was reelected in 2004 with 56% of the vote. But she has been struggling politically at home since late last year following her procedural vote that kept the national health care bill alive in the Senate.

Voters in Arkansas have consistently opposed the health care bill more strongly than voters in much of the rest of the country. Sixty-five percent (65%) of voters in the state now favor repeal of the health care bill, while 30% oppose repeal. This includes 57% who Strongly Favor repeal and 20% who are Strongly Opposed.

Eighty-nine percent (89%) of the much-larger group that Strongly Favors repeal support Boozman, a U.S. congressman who, like all Republicans, voted against the health care bill. Sixty-two percent (62%) of those who Strongly Oppose repeal back Lincoln.

Boehner Delivers Weekly Republican Address

June 12, 2010

Dear Friend,

In these tough economic times, American families have done their level best to stay afloat – spending less and working more while trying to map out a financially sound future. They deserve that same degree of discipline and vigilance from their government.

But instead, Washington continues to spend with reckless abandon, refusing to make tough choices and pushing the burden on to future generations.

This week I had the opportunity to deliver the Republican Weekly Address, where I discussed our nation's deteriorating fiscal health, and the letter I gave President Obama this week from more than 100 economists who say that to create jobs, we must start cutting spending now. I also talked about Republicans’ common-sense solutions to reform the way Washington spends our tax dollars.

When it comes to our nation’s fiscal situation, waiting and hoping for the best is no longer an option. Not when 43 cents of every dollar we spend this year is borrowed from our kids and grandkids.

You can access video of my address by clicking above. Please also consider checking out America Speaking Out and YouCut – two new House GOP initiatives designed to allow you to submit your ideas on how to restore fiscal accountability in Washington.

And as always, please continue to keep me updated on the issues that concern you.

Sincerely,

/s/ John Boehner
