Dave Funk, retired Airline Captain and Veteran of the Iowa Army National Guard, has filed his papers and is officially a candidate for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District to take on Leonard Bowsell. Dave Funk has been certified by obtaining the required number of signatures and will be on the ballot in the primary election in the 3rd District primary for the Republican nomination on June 8, 2010.

I would like to thank our faithful volunteers who helped me get the needed signatures to get on the ballot for the chance to run against Leonard Boswell in November. With a full field of candidates on the ballot it will give Republicans a chance to send a tested opponent to take on Cong. Boswell.” said Dave Funk. “I believe Iowans deserve a candidate who can stand on the issues and bring principled conservative leadership back to Washington. I’m running because when I look at my two young twins I want to make sure they grow up in a land of opportunity where American Exceptionalism means you can be anything you want to be without the government picking the winners and losers. Now more than ever, Congress needs proven leaders who will bring real solutions to our tax structure and be willing to stand up against out of control spending and political pandering no matter where it originates. Lower taxes, stopping the stupid spending, and standing for a secure America we can take pride in.” said Funk.
Dave lives in Runnels, Iowa and serves as a Reserve Police Officer with the Pleasant Hill Police Department and works for Laird & Associates as a Security Consultant.
