Republican Leader John Boehner on Fox Sunday about "A Pledge to America" is "About Now"

What have we heard against the Pledge to America released by Republican members of the House?

Obama doesn't like it and intends to take it apart piece by piece -- Score one for the House Republicans because if Obama doesn't like it, must be a very good plan.

Pictures don't show enough blacks -- note the word is enough blacks and Huffington Post could only find one -- obviously didn't look at the Town Halls too hard or they would see more. What struck us is at the Town Halls were mostly senior citizens. Anyone concentrating on pictures instead of what was said in the document is laughable. Guess you cannot please everyone.

Nancy Pelosi: Pelosi Counters GOP Pledge, Says Democrats ‘Stand By’ Obamacare -- “Our members have stated where they are on it," said Pelosi. "They have voted for it. They stand by it, and they are great advocates for it.”

Harry Reid: Wanted to know if it was a campaign gimmick or a plan. Figures from a Democrat as almost everything with them during campaigning is a gimmick. Obama 'Hope and Change' was not a plan but a gimmick slogan that has turned into a disaster. Didn't expect much more out of Reid with a hard election fight for his Senate seat.

That's just a few of the many comments on The Pledge to America. Democrats don't like it, pollsters are asking if it is a plan or gimmick, and mainstream media is trying to downplay a lot of the plan which adds up to one very good plan for American taxpayers.

Boehner Delivers Weekly Republican Address

June 12, 2010

Dear Friend,

In these tough economic times, American families have done their level best to stay afloat – spending less and working more while trying to map out a financially sound future. They deserve that same degree of discipline and vigilance from their government.

But instead, Washington continues to spend with reckless abandon, refusing to make tough choices and pushing the burden on to future generations.

This week I had the opportunity to deliver the Republican Weekly Address, where I discussed our nation's deteriorating fiscal health, and the letter I gave President Obama this week from more than 100 economists who say that to create jobs, we must start cutting spending now. I also talked about Republicans’ common-sense solutions to reform the way Washington spends our tax dollars.

When it comes to our nation’s fiscal situation, waiting and hoping for the best is no longer an option. Not when 43 cents of every dollar we spend this year is borrowed from our kids and grandkids.

You can access video of my address by clicking above. Please also consider checking out America Speaking Out and YouCut – two new House GOP initiatives designed to allow you to submit your ideas on how to restore fiscal accountability in Washington.

And as always, please continue to keep me updated on the issues that concern you.

Sincerely,

/s/ John Boehner

BOEHNER BULLETIN: HOUSE DEMOCRATS ENDORSE "SLAUGHTER SOLUTION"

Dear Friend,

Today, in a sad moment for the House of Representatives, members of Congress turned down the opportunity to have a straight up-or-down vote on a costly health care bill that will hurt our economy, and forever alter the doctor-patient relationship. Instead Democrats jumped at Democratic leadership’s “Slaughter Solution,” the ultimate in Washington power grabs, that will allow Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) to pass the Senate health care bill – “Cornhusker Kickback” and all – through the house without a vote.

This move has drawn widespread outrage – the Cincinnati Enquirer recently declared it a “disgusting process” and an “arrogant approach” – because it is designed to protect Washington politicians when it’s American taxpayers we should be looking out for. While members of Congress might not want an up-or-down vote on a trillion-dollar government takeover of health care full of tax hikes, Medicare cuts and taxpayer funding for abortions, it’s clear where the American people stand.

Earlier this week, I welcomed 8th District residents at the Capitol who traveled to D.C. to join with Americans from across the country and scream “stop!” to the Democratic Majority in Washington. I told them I would continue to fight against this bill on behalf of them and the majority of Americans who oppose this bill, while continuing to call for Congress to start over on commonsense reforms to make our current health care system better.

The President and Democratic Leaders today showed that they are going to continue to ram, ram, ram this bill through Congress. But we can still defeat this bill. In the coming days, members of Congress will be asked to make a final vote on this massive government takeover of health care. As I told my colleagues on the floor on Tuesday, this will be the biggest vote that most Members ever cast. And so they will have an important decision to make. Will they stand with Speaker Pelosi and Washington Democrats, or will they stand with the American people?Sincerely,John Boehner

NOTE: Thank you Republican Leader Boehner for continuing to stand up for the American people!

Boehner: I'm Doing Everything I Can to Prevent this Govt Takeover of Health Care from Becoming Law

Representative Boehner and House Republicans have been leading this fight against the takeover of healthcare by the Obama Administration for over a year. Republicans are still fighting this every step of the way in the Housoe and Senate. The new idea to pass this Obamacare/Senate bill without voting by using the Unconstitutional 'Slaughter Rule' is going to land House Members in the cross hairs of the SCOTUS before it is done. Democrats trying to pass the Senate bill without voting is the biggest slap in the face at the American people yet from Obama and the leadership of the Democrats in the House and Senate.

Are the Democrats too scared to go on record that they are voting for this bill? Since they want to just say the bill has passed by voting for the 'Slaughter Rule' then Republicans can assume that all Democrats are voting YES on the bill and oust them all for voting for Pelosi for Speaker that cares not one bit about the Constitution or the will of the American people!

We support Mark Levin, radio show host, in his call for Louise Slaughter to be removed from the House for coming up with this Rule which is clearly Unconstitutional.
