Iowa Congressman Makes No Apologies for His Comments About Obama Favoring Minorities

It has become readily apparent that Obama favors minorities over whites to the stage you could call his comments and actions discrimination against whites. We noticed it during the campaign as he dissed his mother's white side of the family including his grandparents.

Once in office, it became perfectly clear with his pandering to blacks, muslims, and other minorities that whites were to take a back seat. Attorney General Holder's Department of Justice dropping the voter intimidation caught on tape against the New Black Panthers was evidence that change was going to be pandering to minorities.

Thanks to Congressman King (R-IA) for standing up and telling it like it is as so many of our elected officials want to play 'nice' and those days are over as Obama attempts to move this Nation on a path toward socialism bankrupting the United States as he moves along.

We still haven't recovered from reading about the federal judge in New York who wants Hispanics in a town to get six votes to apportion as they desire so Hispanics can be represented on the Town Council. What happened to one man, one vote. Judge rejected making six districts -- Why? Guess that doesn't apply where minorities are concerned -- ACORN has been making sure of that over the years with their voter fraud for Democrats.

When does it stop? When does Martin Luther King's wish that a man be judged on who he is as a person not the color of his skin become a fact? It obviously didn't happen with Obama being elected as the racial divide is farther apart than it has been in years thanks to his policies and comments. If you make a comment against an Obama policy, you are called racist. What does policy have to do with his race?

Iowa Rep. Steve King said he is performing a public service by accusing President Obama of favoring blacks over whites.

"I'm standing up against something that is or could become racism," King told FoxNews.com on Wednesday.

The Iowa Republican said he didn't misspeak when he told a nationally syndicated radio show on Monday that President Obama favors blacks over whites. King told the G. Gordon Liddy show that Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder repeatedly demonstrate an unjust preference toward minorities.

King told FoxNews.com that his comments alluded to a July 2009 incident in which a white police officer in Cambridge, Mass., arrested a black professor for disorderly conduct.
Before knowing all the facts, Obama said Sgt. James Crowley acted "stupidly" when he apprehended Harvard Prof. Henry Louis Gates Jr. outside his home. Obama later said he did not intend to malign the police offer -- and invited the two men to a "beer summit" at the White House -- but King claims his initial remarks showed a "built-in defense mechanism" that favors minorities.

Mexico's illegals laws tougher than Arizona's -- "Why would Mr. Caderon have any objections?" Cong King

The Mexican President Felipe Calderon denounced Arizona's new Immigration Law as "racial discrimination" but what does he call what Mexico does to illegals which is much tougher than Arizona? We found this quote from Cong King (R-IA) which is a question that should be asked of the Mexican President by this Administration but we are not holding our breath.

"Why would Mr. Calderon have any objections to an Arizona law that is less draconian than his own, one he has pledged to enforce?" Mr. King said.

How many news outlets are going to cover the fact that the Mexican laws against illegals are tougher than Arizona? These two paragraphs from the article say all we need to know about Mexico's double standard:

Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be imprisoned for 10 years. Visa violators can be sentenced to six-year terms. Mexicans who help illegal immigrants are considered criminals.

The law also says Mexico can deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," violate Mexican law, are not "physically or mentally healthy" or lack the "necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents.

As for the Mexican President Calderon's comments, the whole world can now see what a hypocrite he is. He is a perfect match for Obama with his rhetoric!

"This sounds like the kind of law that a rational nation would have to protect itself against illegal immigrants — that would stop and punish the very people who are violating the law," said Rep. Steve King of Iowa, ranking Republican on the House Judiciary subcommittee on immigration, citizenship, refugees, border security and international law.

"Why would Mr. Calderon have any objections to an Arizona law that is less draconian than his own, one he has pledged to enforce?" Mr. King said.

Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on terrorism and homeland security, described Mr. Calderon's comments as "hypocritical to say the least."

"I would have expected more from Mr. Calderon," said Mr. Kyl, who serves as the Senate minority whip. "We are spending millions of dollars to help Mexico fight the drug cartels that pose a threat to his government, and he doesn't seem to recognize our concerns. He ought to be apologizing to us instead of condemning us."

Mr. Kyl, along with fellow Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain, has introduced a 10-point comprehensive border security plan to combat illegal immigration, drug and human smuggling, and violent crime along the southwestern border. It includes the deployment of National Guard troops, an increase in U.S. Border Patrol agents and 700 miles of fencing, along with other equipment and funding upgrades.

Sources from the 5th District of Iowa notified Voices tonight that they had circulated a petition today encouraging Steve King, the Congressman from the 5th District of Iowa, to run for President in 2012. It was almost a unanimous vote except for a constiuent who doesn't want to lose him as their Congressman and another one who wants him to become Speaker of the House. We definitely understand those votes. We wouldn't want to lose him if he was our Congressman either.

Over the last few months we have posted some of Congressman King's speeches along with the story where he shot a raccoon coming around his home which anyone living in farm/ranch country knows is not an animal you want around your home or barns.

King is one of the most articulate Representative in the House. When he speaks, you know what he says in plain language so no one has to consider what he meant to say -- you know from his words exactly what he is saying. His speeches on the floor of the House leave you riveted because he speaks with passion and gives the facts.

We are tired of politicians speaking and having to parse what they say or jumbling up words so they make no sense. We want someone to elected as President who tells it like it is and doesn't back down. When you deal with foreign countries, they need to know they are talking to someone who means what they say. We also need a President who understand the difference between countries who are our allies and countries who have no intention of being a friend of the United States and acts accordingly. We believe Steve King is that man.

King is a self-made man who started his own business and knows what it is like as a small business owner to meet a payroll. He is well aware of all the taxes that are collected by the Federal and State Governments not to mention the numerous regulations that the they continue to enact that place a burden on the small business owners in this Country. His experience as a small business owner is practical experience that you cannot get from a book but by living it day by day.

Here in Oklahoma the vast majority of our business' are small business like so many other states. These small business entities are the backbone of job creation in the United States and need to be encouraged to grow and become successful. They do not to be penalized by too many taxes and regulations placed on them by the Government.

For too many years the Republican grassroots have been shut out with backroom deals on who should run for President. In 2012 it is time we had our voices heard. We believe that Steve King would be a great grassroots Presidential candidate who would enthuse Republicans, Independents, and Conservative Democrats across America.

Here in Oklahoma we know something about a grassroots candidate, as the members of the Oklahoma Republican grassroots worked hard to elect Senator (Dr) Tom Coburn to the United States Senate in 2004 against the wishes of the Washington establishment.

We salute the 5th District of Iowa and their resolution which was passed encouraging Steve King to run for President. We eagerly await the outcome from the State Convention on the 5th District Resolution.

Iowa is the first State to hold the caucus for President, and we are confident the people of Iowa would be extremely proud to cast their votes for one of their own, Steve King, Congressman from the Iowa 5th District. Then on to New Hampshire, the State of Live Free or Die, where a true member of the Grassroots we believe would get their support for President.

We agree with Michelle Bachmann that Steve King would make an excellent candidate for President in 2012. Smart, articulate, has the values of Middle America and can give speeches and write articles which are clear and concise and you are never left thinking, what did he say?

Steve King certainly should be considered in any discussion for Presidential candidates in 2012. For now, let's get him reelected to Congress to continue to carry on the work of "We the People!"

Congresswoman Bachmann to Headline King Fundraiser Next Saturday

Congressman Steve King announced his colleague in the U.S. House of Representatives, Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, will be the keynote speaker at his third annual Defenders of Freedom event this coming Saturday.

“I am honored to have Michele come to western Iowa to share her brand of conservative leadership with us,” King said. “Together Michele and I have led the charge in the U.S. House to fight the Obama/Pelosi/Reid health care nightmare. It was her idea that sparked our ‘Declaration of Health Care Independence’ and am proud to call her a friend, ally in the conservative cause, and fellow warrior in the culture war.”

Defenders of Freedom will be held at the The Bluff’s Area Family Center, 903 Topaz Drive, Sergeant Bluff. Doors will open at 5:00 pm on April 10 with the program to being at 5:30 pm. The event includes a banquet, awards presentations, and speeches by Bachmann and King.

Bachmann made her respect for King clear by telling the Sioux City Journal’s political reporter she would support King for president. “Steve King is mentioned as a potential nominee. I have a very high opinion of Steve King and his ability, so I would encourage him to consider any position for higher office,” Bachmann said.

Elected in 2006, Bachmann is the first Republican woman to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Minnesota. Prior to serving in the U.S. Congress, Bachmann served in the Minnesota State Senate. She also spent five years as a federal tax litigation attorney, working on hundreds of civil and criminal cases. That experience solidified Bachmann’s strong support for efforts to simplify the Tax Code and reduce tax burdens on family and small business budgets.

Cong Steve King: Forty words to repeal 2,400 pages

When Abraham Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address, he used 270 words. President Lincoln was considered a plain spoken man from the Plains of America. Democratcare is not Gettysburg but it was a battle being fought by House and Senate Republicans against all odds. The fact that they were able to keep the bill from passing for months speaks volumes about the Republican men and women who represent us in Congress -- they did't give up and kept right on fighting. The House Republicans did everything possible with their limited numbers to stop the Socialist action of this President to take over Healthcare but in the end they were outnumbered. Effective as of the enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, such Act is repealed, and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted.

When you read this, you realize that the Republicans who led the fight against Democratcare and are still fighting are not from the Northeast part of the country or the west coast, they are from rural America not from the large cities of New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles.

Day after day these men along with many other men and women of the House and Senate fought with everything they had against insurmountable odds because the Democrats outnumbered Republicans by so many seats after losses in 2006 and 2008. Today in 2010 this Socialist President and his two socialist lapdogs who lead Congress want a European style Socialist Government. The American people didn't want it in 1776 and they don't want it in 2010. The Democratcare which the Democrats now own will be their Waterloo on the 2nd of November when modern day patriots go to the ballot box and move America back to a Center Right Country governed by men and women who respect our forefathers who fought for freedom and gave us our Constitution to govern the newly formed United States of America.

The men and women of Massachusetts fired the first shot of this new Revolution to Take Back America in January when they elected Republican Scott Brown to the United States Senate just like they did when they fired the shot heard round the world in Lexington to start the Revolutionary War that led to the 13 colonies becoming a free and independent United States of America. The shot in January 2010 was not from a gun but from the ballot box which reverberated around the World.

Republicans, Independents and Democrats in the Heartland, in rural areas of America, and yes in the cities pledge our support, time, effort, and money to reelect the freedom loving patriots of today who have represented all of us so well in the House of Representatives and in the Senate. We pledge to send them reinforcements as we take back seats from the Democrat Progressive Socialist leadership and their minions one by one so that Harry Reid is defeated in the Senate and Nancy Pelosi is no longer Speaker. With defeat of the Democrats, Pelosi can no longer run up a $2M bill flying around on Air Force planes. Time to ground her and her fellow socialists on the 2nd of November 2010.

Any Democrat voting for Democratcare is a target for defeat along with those Democrats who were told to vote NO to save their seat when they have a conservative voting record of less then 30. The gloves are off, America is awake and ready to start the task of righting America. In 2012, we will finish the job and America will take its place alongside our allies and our enemies will no longer have a friendly face in the White House.

We were just sent the following update. We had a hunch that PETA was not going to be happy and sure enough they want a racoon put ahead of the safety of Rep King's grandchildren. Personally we will come down on the side of Steve King not PETA. Once again PETA was an animal put ahead of people.

Iowa Congressman Steve King, gunslinger. The raccoon never knew what hit it. Apparently, the raccoon was trying to push its way into the King family home in Kiron. Kiron pulled out his trusty Desert Eagle. The coon didn't stand a chance. Here's the story.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has weighed in on Rep. Steve King (R) killing a raccoon that tried to crawl its way into his Iowa home — and not surprisingly, the animal welfare group isn’t too pleased.

PETA spokesman Jaime Zalac tells HOH that King should pick on someone his own size, “not a small animal seeking warmth in a blizzard.”

“It doesn’t give you comfort in your representatives when a member of Congress finds it amusing to boast of shooting a desperately cold animal who is 100 times smaller than he is and whose only misstep was trying to get into a large, warm house,” Zalac said in a written statement. “I hope he’s not on any committees that make decisions regarding cruel and unusual punishment. Decent people would call animal control for help, not get on Twitter to boast about having a really, really big gun.”

King tweeted on Feb. 9 that he killed the raccoon with a Desert Eagle pistol when he spotted it crawling into his house. In an interview last week, King told HOH that he felt he needed to kill the critter because he believed it was rabid and could potentially hurt his family.

And King insisted he appreciates wildlife, noting he often sees deer, rabbits, squirrels and other animals on his property.

Note to all raccoons out there: Don’t try to crawl your way into Rep. Steve King’s house. He’ll mess you up.
The Iowa Republican set the Twittersphere all aflutter last week after he posted this message: “Mid day, mid blizzard, 15 degrees, Crazy Raccoon chewing and clawing his way into my house. Desert Eagle 1, Crazy Raccoon zero.”

And because a story that involves a potentially crazed critter, a Congressman and a high-powered semiautomatic pistol can’t quite be summed up in 140 characters, HOH chatted with King on Friday to get the full story behind the now-infamous shooting.

King told HOH that the saga began when his wife, Marilyn, first saw the raccoon — which King described as younger and midsized — trying to crawl its way into the couple’s Iowa home. King was concerned the animal might be rabid, he said, because he had never seen a raccoon so close to the house in the winter.

But the raccoon disappeared until Feb. 9, when King, sitting in his family room on a conference call, spotted it again trying to weasel its way into the house. And he immediately sprung into action.

King grabbed the Desert Eagle — “It’s the one I had handy,” he told HOH — and went after the raccoon, which fled. But King caught up, fired and killed the creature.

“We can’t have an animal that might be sick, might be rabid, out there,” King said, adding that his granddaughters often play in the area where he spotted the raccoon. “That’s just what has to happen when you live out here in the country.”

But King insists he isn’t an animal hater, pointing out that his family often spots animals such as deer, squirrels and rabbits frolicking on their property. “We appreciate the wildlife,” King said.

But “I can’t have a crazy ’coon,” he added.

Rep Steve King: American Jobs Should Go to American Workers

Every last member of the House and Senate should get behind this bill by Cong Steve King (R-IA), New IDEA, which is all about jobs in America going to Americans. It is about time that the hiring of so many illegals in this Country who take jobs away from lay abiding American citizens is looked at in detail and stopped.

We have a hard time with Democrats who believe illegals have more of a right to jobs then American citizens. Their mantra of no one else will do them doesn't fly in the face of such high unemployment numbers. Why do American taxpayers have to keep supporting the illegals who are here along with the employers who knowlingly hire them?

Time to put American first!

Speaking about America's unemployment problem on November 2, 2009, President Obama expressed a desire for new ideas on how to create good-paying jobs. The President stated that "if somebody can show me a strategy that's going to work, then we are happy to consider it."

I have introduced legislation that the President should be "happy to consider," right down to and including the bill's title - New IDEA. On September 16, 2009, I introduced H.R. 3580, the Illegal Deduction Elimination Act (New IDEA), which will immediately reduce America's unemployment and result in the hiring of millions of unemployed Americans. New IDEA will crack down on employers and illegal workers and level the playing field for law-abiding American employers and employees.

According to the Department of Labor, the December 2009 national unemployment rate in the United States was 10.0% and Iowa's unemployment rate was 6.6%. There are 15.3 million unemployed American citizens while the Pew Hispanic Center reports that eight million illegal aliens hold American jobs. In Iowa alone, there are 112,700 unemployed workers while 35,000 illegal aliens hold jobs.

It is inexcusable for American citizens and law abiding immigrants to be jobless while law-breaking illegal aliens hold American jobs. New IDEA clarifies that wages and benefits paid to illegal aliens are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. So if employers hire illegal workers, the wages and benefits paid to illegal workers will be denied as a business expense, resulting in taxable income for employers.

E-Verify is an online government system that enables employers to determine whether an employee is eligible to work in the U.S. E-Verify is currently a voluntary program that by law can only be used on new hires. New IDEA will make E-Verify permanent and authorize its use on all current and prospective employees.

Under New IDEA, employers that uses E-Verify will have "safe harbor." By using E-Verify to check the legal status of new hires, employers will not be punished if they mistakenly hire an illegal alien. Employers who fail to check their employees via E-Verify or ignore proof of an employee's illegal status will be subject to wage and benefit taxation, including interest and penalty on past taxes.

This system will level the playing field for employers that hire only legal workers, who are typically paid more than illegal workers. Under New IDEA, if employers are paying illegal workers $10 per hour and an IRS audit uncovers the violations, the tax liability plus interest and penalty may then cost employers $16 per hour. Removing the cost motivation associated with hiring illegal workers will result in millions of unemployed Americans going to work at newly vacated $10 per hour jobs for pay in the $12-$14 per hour range, or more. New IDEA requires the Internal Revenue Service to notify the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security of identity theft and immigration law violations. It also requires government agencies to work in cooperation with each other to enforce immigration laws.

New IDEA will also be a revenue raiser for the IRS. The bill will result in the IRS collecting interest, penalties and taxes, and newly hired legal workers will pay taxes, unlike the illegal workers they replace.

President Obama and liberals in Congress continue to promote amnesty while overlooking the impact that illegal workers have on American unemployment. Immigration laws protect American citizens, including legal immigrants, from losing jobs to those who have entered our country illegally. We must enforce our immigration laws and allow a sustainable number of legal immigrants into the country each year.

Our immigration policy must protect the interests of Americans citizens and those who played by the rules to legally enter the United States. Immigration law needs to be designed to enhance the economic, social and cultural well being of the Unites States. If President Obama is sincere about finding new and effective economic plans, he should immediately endorse New IDEA. Enforcing and strengthening our current immigration laws, through programs such as New IDEA, will put many unemployed citizens back to work and protect American workers.

In spot checking the Democrat House Member sites, we didn't see anything like this on their sites. Do the unemployed only matter when it comes election time for Democrats?

King Offers Assistance To Displaced Workers

Congressman Steve King today made a packet of information for recently displaced workers available on his website. The packet includes information about rapid response services for laid off workers, Iowa Workforce Development and Department of Labor phone numbers, unemployment insurance, training opportunities and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

The full packet is available below and can also be picked up at Congressman King’s Council Bluffs office, located at 40 Pearl Street, Council Bluffs, IA 51503, or his Sioux City office, located at 526 Nebraska Street, Sioux City, IA 51101.
“Given the current economic crisis, it will take the efforts of all local, state and federal agencies to assist the workers losing their jobs,” Congressman King said. “I and my staff stand ready to assist those affected. I am confident in the resilience of western Iowans. We all need to do all we can to help the hundreds of laid off workers transition into other employment.”

King Unveils Declaration of Health Care Independence

Congressman Steve King, along with House Republicans, today unveiled the Declaration of Health Care Independence, a commitment to protect the rights of the American people to make their own health decisions, reduce bureaucratic red-tape, decrease intergenerational debt and includes ten common-sense principles that must be included in future health care reforms.

Declaration of Health Care Independence

In order to retain the Blessings of Liberty as secured to us by our Founding Fathers and as expressed in our Constitution, We the People reject the imposition upon us of a new, Washington-controlled system of government-run health care. We demand Constitutional protection of the right to make our own health decisions and our own health care choices free of government denials, bureaucratic red-tape, and greater intergenerational debt.

A Washington takeover of American health care will

1) Deny fundamental personal and economic liberties and indisputably violate the Principle of Limited Government as established by the Constitution;
2) Impose increased costs and taxes upon individuals, families, and businesses, as well as taxpayers at the federal, state, and local levels;
3) Irreparably cripple the American economy, at the cost of jobs, businesses, productivity, and quality of life;
4) Create an inescapable new tax by imposing individual and employer mandates;
5) Institutionalize a massive, ever-expanding federal bureaucracy that is impersonal and impractical;
6) Empower bureaucrats to interfere in the doctor-patient relationship, undermine the quality of care, limit choice, and increase the cost of health care.

We have appealed to the decency of the elected majority to respect the rights of all Americans, but their leaders have been deaf to the Voice of the People. We are appalled by their cavalier disregard of the Constitution and of the demands of the People. We are repulsed by their blatant political bribes and kickbacks.

We, therefore, the People and Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, do solemnly Publish and Declare that health care reform, as a matter of principle must

1) Protect as inviolate the vital doctor-patient relationship;
2) Reject any addition to the crushing national debt heaped upon all Americans;
3) Improve, rather than diminish, the quality of care that Americans enjoy;
4) Be negotiated publically, transparently, with genuine accountability and oversight, and be free from political favoritism;
5) Treat private citizens at least as well as political officials;
6) Protect taxpayers from funding of abortion and abortion coverage;
7) Reject all new mandates on patients, employers, individuals, or states;
8) Prohibit expansion of taxpayer funded health care to those unlawfully present in the United States;
9) Guarantee Equal Protection under the law and the Constitution;
10) Empower, rather than limit, an open and accessible marketplace of health care choice and opportunity.

Last week before the State of the Union, this document was released during a press conference. Ask most Americans if they heard about this from the so-called mainstream media and their answer will be 'NO!'

More of the same of what we have come to expect and why some people buy into the Obama and Democrat spin that Republicans are offering no ideas. This is an excellent idea and people across America need to hear about this Declaration of Health Care Independence. If it means Republicans take out ads to spread this message then we support the ads 100% to get out the truth. With the exception of a few news organizations, the mainstream media will continue to ignore Republican initiatives in favor of Democrat lies/spin until they can no longer hide the facts which is coming closer every day.

Conservatives sign 'Declaration'

The only thing missing was quills and powdered wigs.

Eleven House conservatives on Wednesday signed a “Declaration of Health Care Independence” at an event staged by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), and there was no shortage of Revolutionary War rhetoric and tea party references.

Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) compared Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts last Tuesday to the battle of Lexington in April 1775. The congressmen signed their names at the bottom of the so-called declaration, which had been printed in a small font to mirror Thomas Jefferson’s calligraphy.

Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) noted that the signers of the original Declaration of Independence put their lives and property at stake. The Republicans who signed Wednesday afternoon appeared to be in no grave political danger, since they all have fairly safe seats.

“Last week Massachusetts fired another shot that was heard round the world,” Akin said. “Each of those shots were followed by various declarations. … The shot has been fired now twice in Massachusetts, and this is a declaration.”

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), proudly displayed the document the lawmakers signed.

“It looks like the Declaration of Independence on purpose,” he said. “It has language and phrases from the Declaration, as well as the Constitution, but it does lay out the principles of what went wrong, the violations of the Constitution. … (Those who have voted for the bill) simply had a cavalier attitude about the Constitution, even though they took an oath to uphold it.”

The first half of the document decries the government “takeover” of health care, and the second portion lists 10 Republican principles for reform, including restrictions on taxpayer funding for abortions and a prohibition on the expansion of health care to illegal immigrants.

Bachmann invited President Barack Obama to sign the document. She said that the group began preparing it back when passage of a health reform bill seemed “inevitable.”

“We put a lot of time and effort into this,” she said.

King said he thinks most, if not all, House Republicans will sign.
